Well, I had a really lovely Saturday at the South Bank and at the Royal Festival Hall where I joined the British Banter group from Ravelry. I was really pleased to join this very friendly group who meet up once a year - this being the second year of meeting together - some came as far away as Bristol! Lovely to meet with such friendly and talented knitters who made me feel very welcome, thanks to all of you.
This was the mound of yarn, set out by a previous project, but unrelated to the British Banter group. As you can see it is quite spectacular but probably represents the stash that all knitters have if they were to gather all their store together. Wow, truly a lifetime's work...:)
Below a picture of my delicate thumb holding my hat project to go with a completed scarf/cowl that I will show when fully furnished and completed. I quite like my thumb, well the right one anyway, :) :) oh dear, vanity is my name...
It was gorgeous day and I and my friend Maggie sat on the Southbank, chatting, knitting and watching the weird and wonderful go by...lovely end to the day. Good to see you Maggie...will be attending her knitting group soon (South Norwood Knitters).
Funtime fair on the SouthBank with kiddies and parents getting soaked in the fountain...
lots of squeals of delight :) Actually when the fountain goes down, they stepped out non the worse for wet or wear but really good to see all having such a wonderful time.
As I said, a lovely end to the day and will definitely, God willing, meet up again next year. They will be having a stand at the knitting and Stitching show in Alexandra Palace this October so get on down there and check them out.
Keep knitting...
